Meet Jeanette Adams
When starting art and asked to select my first subject in oils - I selected a portrait of Van Gogh the complexity of his shirt collar although white was intriguing and I have loved mixing colors since - evolving from traditional art and portraits to contemporary expressionism.
As a young adult, I was in business and exhibited my art there as well as other hospitality and services industries. Holding art exhibitions together with vintage car shows in our business (newly built Shell Self Service Station) with hundreds of customers daily - this enabled me to sell my artwork and do commissions.
Currently I'm using visual texture as perspective to create a watercolor wash or a thick stand alone texture using anything to move paint over the canvas - sometimes letting the medium dictate an outcome - this genre blurs the line between realism and imagination believing in mark making to respond in a personal way to what I see.
Moving to Gembrook in the Dandenong Ranges I joined art groups painted plein air with Les Bomford, portraiture & still life with John Dudley studied and did workshops with selected artists while managing the Gembrook Market for seven years also enjoyed supporting the Rotary Club Of Emerald & District.

Gembrook Cottages a change of direction - building two luxury accommodation cottages with boutique shop exhibiting all things creative it was fun meeting couples on their romantic getaway - after leaving the cottages I met an abstract artist at a party who mentored established artists in the Yarra Valley the artists showed their latest artwork and she made suggestions - I did 18 months private tuition.

As an awarded artist who with other artists trying to lift the profile of contemporary art in the South East of Melbourne they formed SECAN in 2014 - South Eastern Contemporary Art Network Inc - I was an inaugural committee member.
Painting is a cultural reference to the place from which it is crafted. That's why it is such engaging work with endless reward. The medium and color all with particular combinations we paint together - people - place - landscape - texture to enrich our cultural experience. Jeanette lives in a picturesque Australian National Park every window looks onto the rhythm of the ever-changing seasons of her natural environment.
